Chambray Labradors and the Partners Program for the Betterment of the Breed presents "A Wow Weekend."

A "WOW" Weekend

This past weekend's shows (Dec 2004) at the Greater Miami Dog Club's 57th anniversary, truly was a WOW weekend for Chambray Labradors. Oh, there have been other weekends with greater wins and bigger drama, but you have to understand a little bit of history before you can connect the dots here.

Let me explain...almost 2 years ago, our top producing dam of all times, Am/Int Ch Chambrays Chisholm Chancey CGC, had her second and last litter. Of course, most of you by now know of her stellar accomplishments, the wins, the BOB's the Group Placements and of course the ultimate destiny for a true breeder with his  dams...... her kids.

Her kids from her first litter, now that's another great story, all 3 of the kids from that litter, all 3 true CHAMPIONS. All three have made a name for themselves in the Labrador community.

  • One of them, Am/Nat Ch Chambrays Twist of Fate (Karley) is a AKC-Eukanuba Championship Invitational Finalist for 2004. She is the #1 Labrador from the state of Florida and the #22 in the entire country......and get this, with a 15-year old Junior Handler taking her to that ranking with 15 BEST OF BREEDS for the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Another daughter, Am/Int Ch Chambrays Mad About Madeline CGC TDI (Maddie) , 7 BEST OF BREEDS IN 5 months of showing as a specials, PLUS, the #11 Sporting Group Labrador in the country and the #1 Sporting Group Labrador from Florida.

  • The third daughter, Am/Int Ch Chambrays Chance N Counter CGC (Connie) BEST PUPPY IN SHOW, also a BEST OF BREED WINNER and teamed up with Jessica Herzon to make her the #7 Junior Handler in 2003.

But now back to our WOW Story. Chancey was delivering her second and last litter exactly 2 years ago and then it happened, a huge male puppy was born and I said "WOW" when I first saw him just as his owner and co-breeder, Martha describes him then and today. Well the timing could not have been better for our WOW boy to finish his AKC champion's title, the Miami Dog Show, his home ground, in front of the home crowd and with both of his sisters taking each a BEST OF BREED, Maddie on Saturday and Karley on Sunday, making it the second time that Lance wins a Winners Dog and his sister, Karley takes a Best of Breed the same day.

  • Maddie, Best of Breed on Saturday

  • Karley, Best of Breed on Sunday

  • Lance, Winners Dog and NEW CHAMPION on Sunday

WOW, another great weekend of wins for their mother Chancey, who now has the distinction of having 4 AKC and International titled champions to her credit. Chancey's kids have dominated the wins in Florida both in 2003 and now in 2004, with this Miami weekend being the third time in 6 months that her daughters and son together have won Best of Breeds and Winners Dog/Bitch awards at the same shows.
