All Aboard For The 2011 Eukanuba Championship & Accompanying Dog Shows In Orlando December 14th Through the 18th of 2011
“The Greatest Show On Earth” was the promise of the PT Barnum & Ringling Brothers Circus in my childhood days, today in the new millennium especially for those that dabble into showing dogs, the Eukanuba Invitational Championships holds that distinction!
The
event now draws the crème de la crème of the Top 25 champions of
each breed, also Bred By Exhibitor Champions from that year, dogs
achieving the AKC's Grand Champion and Best In
Show Champions also included will be the #1 dog
of each breed from countries
throughout the world, all of those dogs will receive the much sought
out special “Eukanuba Invitation”!
This most prestigious annual event has grown from its inception barely a decade ago, to now rival and even surpasses the allure that has been established by the granddaddy of all canine events in the USA, the Westminster Dog Show at Madison Square Gardens in New York. Just as with the Westminster Dog Show, qualifying, receiving the invitation and attending the Eukanuba is major bragging rights for the breeder of the dog.
Held in California the last 5 years, the Eukanuba is now back home in Orlando Fl where it all started 10 years ago. This year it will take place in O-town’s brand new convention center the weekend of December 17th and 18th where it will be preceded by 3 days of regular dog shows starting on Wednesday December 14th, through Friday the 16th before the two day event commences on Saturday.
Of super special interest to Chambray Labradors and the many that are part of our Labrador Retrievers Owners Community is that we have already qualified and have received invitations for 4 of our Labs to compete at the super-sized dog show event.
- BIS Ch Chambrays Out Of The Ruff (Hogan) will make his first appearance at the Eukanuba, although he had qualified a record 5 previous years; each of those years the trip to California was out of reach because of the distance and expense. For this year’s show, Hogan receives a special invitation specially reserved for Best In Show winners, a once in a lifetime distinction for a Labrador, one that he accomplished back in 2008.
- Gr Ch Chambrays And The Beat Goes On (Cher) has dual qualifications, first as a Bred By Exhibitor champion at the end of the 2010 show season (2 year’s worth, 2011/2012) and also as with an automatic invitation as a 2011 AKC Grand Champion.
- Gr Ch Chambrays Charmed N Counter had also been invited to both the Eukanuba 2008 and 2009 events in California as a Bred By Exhibitor champion, however again the distance and expenses waylaid those plans then. Now for the 2011 event, she receives an invitation for her AKC Grand Champions title earned at the end of 2010 dog show year, which then rolls over to the 2011 competition.
- Ch Chambrays Bailey On The Rocks becomes Chambrays 4th invitee to the stellar occasion by virtue of having finished his AKC champion’s title from the prestigious Bred By Exhibitor class, making him the Florida state record 4th Bred By Exhibitor champion.

of our home-bred Best In Show Champion, Bred By Exhibitor Champions
and Grand Champions to qualify and receive the coveted Eukanuba
Championship invitation!
In addition to these dogs competing at the Eukanuba 2-day event, they will also compete as champions for Best Of Breed at the 3 regular dog shows joining our other class dogs that will be vying for Winners Dog and Winners Bitch wins. We hope to field a competitive roster for those 3 shows as well.
Since this will be a packed-house event, preparations for the week of December 14th through the 18th are already underway with vacation time setups and hotel bookings by those planning on attending.

We hope to have a real large and supportive group of Chambray owners make the trip and join us for this awesome gathering of the nation’s and the world’s top dogs as well, including the best Labradors anywhere!
