Full Disclosure of the Puppy Placement Process
In order to aid our potential puppy buyers, we have outlined the puppy placement process with the following information:
Since we only have a limited number of puppies born each year, less than 80 total, while at the same time we have well over a thousand request for puppies (actually over 1,500 emails come in a year asking information about the placement of a puppy) .it is obvious that not everyone contacting us for a puppy will be able to obtain one, however each and every request from those searching for a puppy will be answered.
Through our Extensive Interview Process we determine where each puppy that we have available will be placed. We do limit the amount of Reservation Deposits at any given time so as too not overbook the amount of puppies that will become available, so we will accept enough Reservation Deposits to cover the expected number of puppies in a given litter.
We have devised a plan that has been in effect for over 20 years on matching potential new owners with puppies available according to numerous criteria. This process has worked exceedingly well with over 98% satisfaction rate over the years.
As top show Retriever breeders our goals are to produce the most outstanding show quality puppies possible from the absolutely best sires and dams that are part of our Breeding Management Program. The vast majority of these dogs were bred by us and placed strategically with new and existing Chambray owners where later we could decide if they would be the next generation of sires and dams for the breeding program.
So, all puppies born in a litter that exhibit those great qualities that will make them Show Quality will be placed with people that we strongly feel that will work with us in the future to co-produce the next generation of superior quality dogs.
Those puppies that we feel do not possess the competitiveness to be successful at the dog show level will be placed as Pet Quality with the AKC Limited Registration.
Through communications via email, phone and in person (if need be), we will decide where each puppy, be it Show or Pet will be placed.
In order to improve the chances of acquiring a Chambray puppy, we recommend that those interested parties send in a Reservation Deposit to be put on either the Show Quality waiting list or the Pet Quality waiting list for any up and coming litter, even before they are born.
The reason we advise the preceding is that by the time a litter is 5 to 6 weeks old, each and every one of those puppies in those litters will already be spoken for by those that had sent in a Reservation Deposit.
Sending in a Reservation Deposit does not automatically guarantee that there will be a puppy from any given litter, but it does improve the chances than waiting to find out of something is available when the puppies are 8 weeks old.
Since the evaluations for temperament and show quality are not performed until each litter is 7 weeks old, there is no way of telling if any puppy being waited for is available until that 7 week mark.
At that time all those on the Reservation Waiting list will be advised as to what is being made available to each. Each of those on the waiting list then has a choice of either accepting the puppy/puppies being made available to them or if there isnt a puppy available to them from that litter of either canceling their deposit or waiting for the availability of the next litter.
