Chambray Labradors End of 2012 Spring Update

End of 2012 Spring Update

How does the 1st half of 2012 compare to the mind boggling, record setting 2011 dog show season?

Well, for starters there is BIS Ch Chambrays Celestial N Counter achieving what no other Florida female Labrador had ever ascended to............winning an AKC Best In Show. In fact in 25 years of showing, she becomes Chambray's 2nd BIS winner, following in her grandsire's footstep's 2008 (BIS Ch Chambrays out Of The Ruff) Best In Show.
So score 1 up for 2012.

How about 3 new AKC champions in 6 months of showing?

How about 2 new AKC Grand Champions and what about the 3 Trifectas already in the record books for 2012?

The combined Winners Dog & Winners Bitch for 2012 (33) are 8 above the combined totals of WD & WB for 2011. The number of Trifectas (BOB, WD & WB in same show) are even with the record setting totals 2011.

We are also tied with the whole 2011 year for Eukanuba qualifiers with 5 in only 6 months!

In all other categories 2012 is well ahead of the amazing 2011 dog shows season.

There have been 2 dogs that have won 5-Point Majors so far in 2012 which ties the record for most 5-point majors won of 2003

The first half of 2012 also has a dog ranked in the Top 5 USA for All-Breed ranking.

Plus as of May 17, 2012 Chambray has the only Labrador that has won a Best In Show in the country.

The following dogs are on the verge of breaking the state record of 3 champions in 1 year (Chambray holds the record of 3 homebred champions in 1 year, 1997, 2011 and now 2012)

  • Chambrays Emerald In The Ruff 20pts/1Mjr

  • Chambrays Rum Tum Tugger 14pts/1Mjr

  • Chambrays Handsome Island Boy Louie 13pts/1Mjr

  • there are several others with the possibility of catching up and actually finishing as well, see
