Dakota's Story 22 Years In A Nut Shell!
Raising The Bar One Generation At A Time

How Chambray Labradors and the Labradors Owners Community working together produced champion #23.

• 1988 ~ Beaver Creeks Crystal Chambray was purchased by the Herzon family and developed for show. By 1992 she had accumulated 13 points and 2 majors towards her championship, unfortunately she was severely  affected along with the Herzon family and all of the Labradors that were living with us at the time that Hurricane Andrew totally decimated the South Dade area, including our home and kennels. Crystal was never to show again, but she did produce the litter from where Chambrays Apollo Barker was from.

• 1993 ~ Chambrays Apollo Barker was placed with Nelson Barker who participated in the Labrador Owners Community. He had also acquired a show female from Char Don & Chelon Labradors. Due to unexpected change in living arrangements with Mr Barker, both Apollo and Athena were re-homed back at Chambray Acres and produced 1 litter.

• 1995 ~ The pick show female was placed with already existing Labrador Owners Community members, Mike & Brenda Gibbs. Through all of our offerings that puppy, Ch Chambrays Klever Kloi was trained and shown to its AKC championship.

• 2001 ~ Chambray & the Gibbs family co-bred Kloi to 1 litter to Ch Little Rivers Ophir Calvin that produced Chambrays Sydney Down Under. Sydney was kept for show development with the Gibbs family. She was eventually co-bred to one litter with Feather Downs A Fair Judge.

• 2008 ~ The pick show puppy from the litter was specially placed with Greta Schulz, mostly because I knew that Jessie Schulz would absolutely fall in love with her and help train and also use her super handling skills to handle her to her championship. Mission accomplish, Jessie wins with Dakota throughout the south and finished her at the Lake City Dog Shows October 2010.

• 2010 ~ Now Greta, Pete and Jessie Schulz have teamed up with Chambray Labradors as part of the Labrador Owners Community and have bred Dakota with another of our super star champions, BIS Ch Chambrays Out Of The Ruff, owned by Labrador Owners Community members Rosie and Bill Feeley.

• The Schulz family have decided to continue their association with Chambray Labradors and the Labrador Owners Community by keeping a top show prospect from the litter.

• The rest of the litter, including all the show quality puppies will be placed through our special puppy placement program with new owners with the top puppies participating in the next generation of show winners developed by Chambray Labradors and the Labrador Owners Community.

Chambray Labradors & the Labrador Owners Community working together one generation at a time for the Betterment of the Breed! Of course giving credit where credit is due to all those great dogs that came before Crystal in 1988 and to the dogs that were used along the way to bring about the continuing improvement that is so evident at the Florida dog show scene today!
