K-9 For Kids Is For You ©

Joins us, as charter members, as K-9 For Kids takes off and provides the
community with a great public service.

K-9 For Kids Reading and Enrichment Service Programs will consist of specially
trained teams of registered owners and dogs that will provide
visits to schools and hospitals for educational,
comfort and therapeutic value.

Each K-9 Team, consisting of the K-9 Coach (owner/handler) and the K-9 Companion (dog)
will be accepted for the K-9 For Kids Programs through training, evaluations,
observations and certification, including registration through the TDInc Therapy Dog Inc.
program with Maki Nieto-Menedez, TDInc. Tester/Observer.

K-9 For Kids teams will complete and submit the paperwork required for volunteers at Miami-Dade County Public schools, and/or the requirements of Miami Children’s Hospital, including
background check and medical testing.

Dogs must be at least one year old for the TDInc. registration, however we can start
their training with the Puppy Primer Training, Basic Obedience Training,
Canine Good Citizen Training and Testing, plus any other training
and socialization classes offered elsewhere, as all these venues
will provide excellent opportunities for social interaction with the
dogs and their owners in real world settings.

Keep in mind that all these wonderful people that participate in these programs
do so as volunteers, giving their time and efforts in the training, certifying
and visits to the schools, hospitals and clinics.
