For those of you that didn't "catch"
on the first time around read the following!

In the state of Florida, Ocala is the official area designated as “Horse Country”. Immediately outside the slightly congested city limits of Ocala, in any direction you travel, are countless horse farms, large and small, interspersed with acres upon acres of pristine, naturally preserved wooded areas.

The Ocala Dog Club Grounds is such a place and it also is the setting for one of our dog show sites. It is a heavily wooded area comprising of over 40 acres that is owned by the area’s dog club and is used to host several weekends of dog shows throughout the year.

So here we all were at night sitting around the “fireplace” at the most recent show outing for Chambray Labradors and when I say we, I am referring to those fine folk that are part of Chambray Labradors Owner’s Community.

The topic of conversation at these “get togethers” will range from one end of the spectrum to the other with everything and anything in between. Human nature takes its course when more than one of our species congregates and assuredly “show and tell” becomes the main event.

On this rather pleasant, cool evening the most recent Labrador Forum thread came up for discussion since “we” were the focus at that gossip-sharing site. For those of you not privy to the “busy body”, “gossip gravevine* (yes, you read right gravevine!), chit-chat room” forum, I will bring you up to speed on the tomfoolery of it all.

*gravevine: new word invented by yours truly to describe what occurs when an anonymously charged group of people are allowed to post whatever creeps into their small, simple and erroneously-filled minds and eventually go on a rampage
against other individuals without having to take responsibility for their words or actions.

Now before I dive in head first into a tirade-like dissertation thrashing and flogging those wayward souls that haunt these forums, I have to admit that there are many upright and stable individuals that do frequent that website and that do contribute worthwhile tid-bits to the many people that surf through looking for answers that may elude their immediate lack of expertise with the breed. To those do-gooders, I say hooray and to continue on without taking insult from the missives that follow that are directed at the few boring, brainless blokes!

At that particular forum nameless individuals are allowed to post anonymously with whatever ails them and “ails” is the operative word here. It seems that there are a small number of these affected, “offset” individuals that take exception to the way Chambray Labradors operates. Of course since they need not provide their identity at this site, they can post whatever they want and not have to take responsibility for their ramblings. Plus the rest of the righteous world is left to wonder why on earth these people would take the time out of their lives to dwell so heavily on another person’s agenda.

From some of the posters at that infamous website, at times they actually fess up that they spend an inordinate amount of time “perusing” through the many pages of information at www.chambraylabradors.com

Many of these cerebrally ill-equipped personas will quote directly from some of the stories and articles that I have posted at my website. My question here is “Don’t these people have a life? Don’t they have better things to do than to be concerned with the way another person breathes and walks?”

In other words GET A LIFE ALREADY!

From that last line you may think that I am perturbed by the shenanigans and at times slanderous nature of their incessant chattering. Quite the contrary I am extremely flattered that I have created something that is so important to so many people. So important that they visit the website with a rabid fervor reserved for the truly obsessive compulsive.

How do I know they visit our Chambray website? Whenever you surf through the Internet you leave behind electronic footprints that are documented by special tracking services of which GeoEarth and Urchin are two of. Both make out reports as to the IP address of each visitor at our website and by comparing those visitor’s IP addresses with those that post at the Labrador Forum*, we can decipher who is who.

*Recently the moderator of the Labrador Forum posted each and every person’s IP address at that site that had ever posted there. We saved that information and can match the silly-wily poster’s IP addresses to those that visit Chambray and voila we have a match!

So at this time I would like to thank “All” of those that visit Chambray Labradors on a daily bases. Notice that I put all in parenthesis, in capital letters, and in bold, that’s because I mean ALL, from the thousands and thousands of legitimate searchers of information and mentorship that come to our website to those slightly perturbed, disturbed-at-times that howl and screech with each face/phase of the full moon at the Forum.

First of all, to all those that are part of the Labrador Owner’s Community, who took the time to educate themselves by doing their homework and researching well in advance on where to obtain their Labrador Retriever and who chose Chambray Labradors as that source. Of course there are other reputable breeders across the country that offer a great product as well and I also commend those people that had the foresight to choose one of those breeders as well.

Secondly to the million-plus that have enjoyed our offerings since we went online with the www.chambraylabradors website. It is incredibly difficult to fathom more than a 1,000,000 people having the interest to visit our little world on the net! The “if you build it they will come” mantra was right after all and come they have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Ok and now I would like to extend my gratitude to that small number of contrary and anonymous individuals that take time out of their lives to promote our ways of doings things and promote they do!

Yes, you read right, I am thanking those anonymous individuals that constantly stir up the mud from which they dwell at the dubious forum!

Here is the technical lowdown:

That particular forum receives 3000 to 5000 visitors a day. Many “peruse” through the site and read some of the threads that are posted, however a small number of those visitors actually will post something of interest for all the other visitors to read.

Whenever they open up the gates to the insane asylum and the few Chambray detractors are allowed to roam free and rave and rant at the forum, then it creates interest from many of the thousands of viewers as to who they are ranting about. These interested third parties then do a query at the search engines to learn more about the breeder that the loonies are attempting to bash.

Subsequently all those searching for more information are “driven” to www.chambraylabradors.com where they are free as larks to flit and surf through the 750+ pages filled with 40 year’s worth of experience with Labrador Retrievers. Since it is all about the dogs, all accolades, awards, titles, accomplishments, clearances and whatever else is documented there for each dog and their owners as well.

All of these visitors from the Labrador Forum are treated to the one-of-a-kind Labrador Owner’s Community, something not offered by any other Labrador breeder in the country.

Now here is where it gets real interesting and where these “no-name, no account individuals” actually do good while attempting to do the opposite…………………….let me continue to explain.

On the flip side, the Chambray Labradors website receives an average of 750 unique visitors per day as compared to about 4000 for the Labrador Forum website, so when the daffy denizens are allowed to flare up with their problematic and phobic paranoia, they will drive the daily average of visitors to our website up to the tune of about 2000 people or triple the daily average at our website. A harvest-full bonanza if there ever was one!

This huge surge of activity to a particular website is picked up by the search engines such as Google in their constant statistic's accumulations. The more traffic a website has the higher a ranking it will have in their directories. As people around the world surf the web and instigate searches, the search engines will direct those searches to those sites that have unique and extensive content and that are seemingly “hot”.

A huge spike in viewers to a site will create that hot effect and thus our website will receive an additional 100% in daily visitors from those search engines as well!

So whenever we become the topic of conversation at that busy body intersection forum, we receive invaluable traffic to our website creating a “PRICELESS” amount of free promoting and advertising for our services and goods. Since we offer training, conditioning and handling of dogs, plus our www.labradorwell.com website markets our LabWell line of supplements for Labradors, a super Priceless situations is created by those rebel rousers.

In other words to make it simple, the goings on at the Labrador Forum have absolutely no negative impact what so ever for me personally or for Chambray Labradors, on the contrary we actually have huge benefits with all the worldwide traffic that is diverted to our site with the commotions created by the 5 or 6 simpletons that just don’t get it!

So a big “Thank you” is in order for the disorderlies!

Of course since those few distracted individuals choose to remain anonymous and therefore not responsible, there is no way to thank them directly or in person for their contributions to our cause. So, from now on I will wink at them when we encounter them at the dog shows as a way of saying “Thank you”!

Now in reality, they are only “anonymous” in their own small minds, because the rest of the open-minded world “knows” who they are!

From their repetitiveness, way of expressing themselves (actually some are very inarticulate) and from the subject matter it is not difficult to surmise who these shady, nefarious characters are. Plus, from their neurotic behavior at the dog shows we can assuredly surmise who they are in particular, just watch and listen as they scream and run around acting much as would a rabid dog! "Sacreblue mondieu",  a truly out of body experience seems to emerge un-controllably from somewhere inside. Demonic freaky to say the least!

Then people such as this are allowed to constantly bring up the same re-treaded agendas over and over again at times boarding on paranoia and or unhealthy hang-ups which tend to identify them to anyone that wishes to waste their valuable time in the identification process. But honestly, what can you expect from people that act like Tasmanian dogs in public, "zilch", in Spanish they say "nada"!

Plus, their electronic footprints with their IP addresses are left behind for additional identification documentation.

We know who they are as we see them at the dog shows skulking and scurrying about doing their best to remain their usual insignificant and "anonymous" selves. All of these whiners put together amount to zero contributions to the breed in the time that they have been into it.

I state that because I serious doubt that any of the reputable Florida breeders are involved in shameless personal attacks on anyone. At least I hope that the 5 or 6 other breeders that produce competitive Labradors in Florida are beyond this level of sophomoric, moronic behavior.

Let’s take a look at the most recent posting from the wayward forum, maybe we can glean some significance from that thread of thought. Since the posters choose to omit their names and thus their identity, I have taken the liberty of giving them a moniker to refer to them by.

It starts out with the following “bait and switch” offering by the original poster; an ingeniously named individual going by “ANON”. Let’s face it how brilliant can anyone be referring to themselves as ANON! Anon is not suiting this bumbling bumpkin, so we will refer to this one as Country Bumpkin, because this one is as clueless as they come having fallen off the turnip truck most recently.

They got the shaft again

I was at a show this past weekend and the breeder handler dumped his open yellow to take his bred by back into winners. He has convinced his clients that the rule is you must stay on the bred-by for winners.

Well Country Bumpkin, for your information and all the other similar bleating sheep, a handler can and will designate any of his handling assignments as his or her “priority” back in for Winners! That priority may change from show to show and it is up to the handler to make the call. That is the way the handling business is run, by the handlers!

Whatever

Well Maybe,? it sounds like the OP is asking so get a grip. Could be those of us who have learned and know better are just trying to enlighten those that don't. I have no desire to read anyone's website and personally do not care how this person does things because they do not play the game fair!!!
From what I know from past experience on this forum it could be he himself posting as *Maybe*

Ok, so now we have “Whatever” contribute some words of wisdom. NOT!!!!! We will bestow Ditsy Doodle on this poster. This is one that is also a recurring poster with the same usual gripe. “Doesn’t play the game fair” is the usual lament. Well, Dits if you had multiple dogs that could win at any given show, you too would bring more dogs. I don’t bother posting at the Labrador Forum unless I am real bored and then want to play head games with the lowbrows that waste the forum’s time and space with idiotic posting as this one.

Not the rule
Nov 9th, 2009 - 9:55 PM

I don't think the issue is the need to explain how this person does things, I think it is that this person tells his clients who rely on his guideance that those are the AKC rules. When in fact that is not the rule.

“Not the Rule”, we have just changed your name to Clueless Cloe. OMG, a Clueless Cloe trying to explain a simple subject matter and drowning in the proverbial drop of water!

LOUD & CLEAR: THERE ARE NO RULES THAT GOVERN WHICH DOG A HANDLER CAN SHOW IN THE WINNERS CLASS!

no
Nov 10th, 2009 - 1:03 AM

you can no longer use a handler for the winners class, so if you win bred by, you must be prepared to show in winners. you can't pass the dog off toanother handler. I think it went into effect Sept 1st

“No” becomes Loony Tunes here:  I sure hope they stop this one from multiplying, where in tarnation do these whack jobs come from and where do they acquire their information? Do these loonies make this up as they go along? How did this one get a driver’s license? Head for the hills if this is the norm that is out there!

newbie
Nov 10th, 2009 - 9:09 AM

I do agree these people should read the AKC website and learn on their own what the rules are instead of being strung along or reading non factual information on some breeders website. Go to the AKC website and get the "true" answers and then make your own decisions.

“Newbie” gets a new name of “Dumdeedumdum”, read all you want at the AKC site; there is nothing anywhere there that will dictate to a handler which dog he/she handles in the Winners Class. Read what is at my website and I will tell you and all my clients all about class strategies and handling priorities. Educate yourselves before you open you mouth or before you put anything into print. Remember, no one knows how dumb you are until you talk or write!

Just want to be clear about the rules for all to read and learn. Most should already know that it is not proper practice for a handler to go off of the open yellow class winner right before winners and go back in on another dog because then they are saying to the judge that they don't want that open yellow dog to win and they are dumping the dog simple as that.
Find it hard to believe that any client would be paying a handler under that kind of agreement knowing fully that their dog will be getting dumped and they will miss out on winning the points?

Ah, back to Country Bumpkin. Listen up Bump, the Yellow Open Class happens to be the last class in the ring for Labradors and just because the handler is there with that dog does not create a “priority” for handling in the Winners Class, as simple as a dimple on a dapple! Each client knows exactly what the coverage is and it is none of anybody's business what transpires between handler and client. Get a business of your own and run it the way you see fit, let’s see how many clients you will have!

Maybe
Nov 10th, 2009 - 5:18 PM

That was exactly my point. If I am guessing correctly who this is in reference to - the handler/breeder has this all spelled out of who goes back in with who and how they handle these situations. It is very clear to anyone using him that bred by is priority which the handler/breeder has every right to do it this way if he wants. The client does not have to "buy into" anything - it is their choice.

“Maybe” is an exception to the “DUMB AS THEY COME” rule with the one up above, actually one that has it down right, a breath of fresh air, ok so now the world is safe as someone actually has their facts straight!

The Pied Piper and his Mice

“HMmmmm2” ah here we go again with the Pied Piper, the Kool Aid and Jim Jones references! If people don’t agree with their version of the events then they cast dispersions on them. This is like the mud slinging that takes place in political races. Well, HMmmmmmm2 go hum a few bars and see how many will follow anything you do.

not so
Nov 10th, 2009 - 10:03 PM

Dear Maybe,
You are 100 % wrong. Been there done that and it is not all spelled out on how it works. It is not anyone's choice it is simply one way or the other. You sound like you are "buying into" it right now. Good luck to you, you will need it.

“Not So” is this one of the many aliases of one of the previous posters! This one sounds like a former disgruntled postal worker obviously going postal, so we will refer to this one as the “Wacky One”! Yes, there have been some that just didn’t fit in and were politely asked to take a walk. The working arrangements either work or they don’t and when they don’t I just don’t have the time to waste with dead-ended individuals as this one sounds like. No need trying to explain a simple subject to a wack.

Looked a little further
Nov 11th, 2009 - 9:00 AM

I looked a little further and see that most of those complaining here got their dogs beat, check out the results at infodog and see whose dogs were in Bred By, Am Bred and Open Yellow and that will show who some of the posters here are.

“Looked a little further” sounds like one of the brighter observers from the forum. This one did a little research and found the “facts” at the MBF site, www.infodog.com  where the results for the dog shows are posted. Indeed it is true the lamenters on this particular thread were all beaten by Chambray-bred and Chambray-handled dogs in the Bred By Exhibitor Class, the American Bred Class and the Open Yellow. No wonder they were up in arms and venting venom at the forum! The old saying “if you can’t beat them”, then “try and bash them at the forum” seems to be alive and well with these fickle fingered folk!

Here’s a mantra for the losers to learn,

“Winners never whine and whiners never win!!!!!!”

Anon
Nov 11th, 2009 - 9:22 AM

And the only poster here defending this, is the breeder/handler himself.
Always those who want to just say people are bringing things up because they did not win at a show when it is truly not the case.

It is about being upright and playing the game fair for all involved. These are not even my dogs, I am just calling a bad play as I saw it happen.
Right, many breeders do go back in on their bred-by and it is usually a breeder who brings only their own bred-by dog to the show that they house as well and then they bring it back into winners. Or it is that the breeder has 2 littermates and the bred-by class is a good way to space out their dogs in the classes. This is not the case with this breeder. This breeder brings 18 dogs to the shows that are housed and owned by others and then decides on that day who he wants to try to get the gravy for. Does not sound like a fair deal that I would spend my money on.
To Heres the Deal, how do you know whether or not people complain about a contractor that does roof work on their house or not? That is a stupid statement.

“Anon”, “Country Bumpkin”, “Ditsy Doodle”, “Clueless Cloe”, “Disgruntled Ex-Postal” “Wacky One”, “Nitwit”, “Dimwit” or whatever alias this one wants to use, it is all the same……..people get into something and are totally clues as this one is. Watch some of these “distinguished” people at any dog show, are they having fun? Do they seem to have a clue? Do they have any type of a following other than the other Dits, Dimwits and Wacked out ones?

“Not” as Borat would deadpan.

Are they winners? Not again.

Do they actually contribute anything to the breed & dog shows?

YES!!!!!!!! They bring their dogs and add numbers to the tally, the more dogs you beat the higher the point value for the win.

So as Bob Barker of the Price Is Right always said “Come on down’”!

Nov 11th, 2009 - 10:03 AM

After a few years of getting the shaft, the brighter mice soon sever all ties to this breeder. You do not see them at the shows but are codlocked into producing puppies for this breeder. And the circle keeps going round and round

Ah, here is the Hummer again, or is it Dits or maybe its Bumps, or maybe it’s the Wacky One, who knows and really from the content of their message, who cares? Let’s take a look at the “brighter mice” they speak of, the ones that severed all their ties to Chambray. Let’s really see what happened to them when left on their own devices, where are they now and how successful have they have become?

Have any of them gone on to greatness after they were given their pink slips? Research for yourselves and find out where all those fleeing mice ended up!

Yes it is true that some of the mice turned into rats and were let go, there are some that just didn’t work out because of individual eccentricities, some bordering on the absurd that just could not associate in a giving, positive working environment and they were let go free as “meece” with no retribution or with any animosities.

Ok, let’s wrap up the cheese and not slice anymore and leave some for a later outing as I am sure there is more to come since obsessive compulsives just can not control themselves and will assuredly add to our coffers with free advertising and promoting with eventual lunacies and madness at the Gravevine Forum!

In the words of the great Sarah Palin................"Gotcha!"
